Case studies include: Dealing with the Black Death and the Great Plague, key discoveries such as vaccination, penicillin and DNA, and the use of science and technology in the 21st century.
Q1 knowledge includes: medical provision and treatment for soldiers on the Western Front during the First World War; the impact of new weapons such as gas; effects of the trench environment; and medical innovations such as x-rays and blood banks.
Q2 skills requires: understanding of historical enquiry and the strengths and weaknesses of sources.
