Narratives of Denial
According to the guidelines codified by Marc Bloch (1886-1944), the historian’s job is characterized by the quest for multiple and diverse sources in order to achieve a broader view with respect to traditional history.
Bloch also argues that the professional historian’s duty is to understand the past and not to judge it, making clear the importance of cooling ideological or political dogmatism.
Historical Revisionism
In this way, then, revisionism acquires a neutral valence and can even be considered a fundamental element that should define the deontological ethics of the historian.
Ferdinand Llanes, professor at the Department of History, UP CSSP explained historical revision. He said that in historiography, it is a new interpretation, a new way of looking at things and why it happens. He added that revisions are sometimes legitimate and important.
In other words, when you speak of revisionism, there must be some prevailing notion of an event in the past, if not something very dominant, that you would do something to provide an alternative way of seeing this event.
Example of Historical Revisionism
Death of Napoleon Bonaparte
Death of Andres Bonifacio
The word revisionism takes on a pejorative meaning because it is associated with a vulgar use of certain historical events manipulated for political ends and with a complete lack of scientific foundation.

Is there a prevailing or dominant view to be changed?
BUT THE Question IS...
Do the people think negatively of martial law such that the Marcoses would need to make some revisions?
Amando Mendoza Jr., professor at the Department of Political Science, UP CSSP explained that political rehabilitation is "the restoration of a person's political state from a previous one".
He hypothesized that political rehabilitation is not necessary because the Marcoses "only suffered a temporary loss of status"
Mendoza stressed that the status of the Marcoses is secured and was only harmed in the eyes of those who fought Martial Law.
Those who opposed the Marcoses during the Martial Law years have failed to revise history to convey the story of their sacrifices and struggle.
To see why this generation still voted for the Marcoses, we can look into two sets of materials:
