The Aniene was once clear and white before being a victim of pollution.

The Aniene was born in the Simbruini mountains, on the border between Lazio and Abruzzo. In the first part of its journey it has pure and clear water up to the Campolimpido area at Lake Favale.
What happened?
At the Lucano Bridge (Tivoli), the river has cloudy and whitish water, there are no ducks and there is no river fauna. Because in that stretch the water passes through the hydroelectric plant, several factories and a purifier.
Cause
At the end of its course, the Aniene flows into the Tiber, in Rome, among other things in an area often used as an illegal dump.
The earth is our home. Nature is our roommate. We have to respect both of them and give them all our love.
