Li:OLinda Bove was a deaf actress. Her impact in the deaf community was significant because she brought sign language and deaf community issues to people at home, by having a role on the childrens show, Sesame street!

  • She performed in the broadway play "Happy Days," as fonzie's girlfriend.

Early childhood

Linda Bove was born November 30, 1945. She attended St. Joseph school for the deaf in Bronx, New York, in 1963. Then in 1963 attended In 1963, she attended the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf in Trenton, New Jersey. And graduated from Galludet university in 1968. She joined an NTD theatere troupe her senior year, setting her on the course of her love of theater. Soon enough, a role for seaame street was up for auditioning. Linda Bove did so and got a role in 1971

Traits and acomplishments

Linda Bove had a love for acting, proven by her staring in multiple broadway shows, such as Songs from Milkwood and Moliere's Sganarelle. Linda Bove accomplished making a book teaching ASL for preschoolers, along with introducing ASL to the public!

Impact

Linda Bove's impact of society was huge, not only did she show others that there was more to Deaf culture then just being deaf, but she also got people interested in Deaf culture. Which began to open up the Deaf community to new horizons, giving them recognition for what they could do.

Conclusion

So who was Linda Bove really? She was an actress, who showed the world that Deaf people weren't any diffrent then the normal society. She introduced the world to sign language and sparked interest in ASL and the deaf community!
