COLLEGE

King's College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England. Formally The King's College of Our Lady and Saint Nicholas in Cambridge, the college lies beside the River Cam and faces out onto King's Parade in the centre of the city. Wikipedia

It was Alan Turing’s mathematical genius that cracked the Enigma encryption used by the Nazis and helped win WWII for the allies.

But as a teenager Turing was told by a teacher that he would never amount to anything with his “vague ideas”, a school report which has gone on display for the first time reveals.

The reports belonging to the scientist, who is widely regarded as the father of modern computing, will go on show at Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge alongside other personal items and rarely seen coding devices.

His Best Facts

Turing essentially pioneered the idea of computer memory. In 1936, Turing published a seminal paper called “On Computable Numbers” [PDF], which The Washington Post has called “the founding document of the computer age.” In the philosophical article, he hypothesized that one day, we could build machines that could compute any problem that a human could, using 0s and 1s. Turing proposed single-task machines called Turing machines that would be capable of solving just one type of math problem, but a “universal computer” would be able to tackle any kind of problem thrown at it by storing instructional code in the computer’s memory. Turing’s ideas about memory storage and using a single machine to carry out all tasks laid the foundation for what would become the digital computer.

Facts

Alan Turing was the main brain of Bletchley. He was the man who made the bombe the german code breaker Alan Turing had a machine called the ‘Turing Machine’ it was basically just a tape recorder.

The Bombe helped Bletchley Park mostly in breaking codes (Mostly German Cipher) Alan Turing (Being called AT from now on) He worked for a government Caesar Cipher school It's mostly helped kids in cracking codes so when they are older they can most likely crack german codes. This takes years to master caesar Cipher is a easy Code There are more advanced codes than just That!

COMPUTER

His Best Skill

One of Alan Turing's most obvious skills was his ability to break large problems into smaller ones so he could solve them one step at a time. It's an incredibly difficult skill to master, but one that proved useful for Turing throughout his life

INTERESTS

THE BOMBE

If you don't know what a code is here is an example of a QR code. Usually you scan this and get something.

Info:

The Bombe was famous cracking German codes Its was a big boost and more helpful to crack German ceaser cipher and more. The whole Organization was so glad that Alan Turing made the Bombe. This made cracking codes way easier without this machine we might of never been here!
