Athletes as Role Models for Young Children and Teens
How many of you, or someone in your family has ever identified a professional athlete as a role model or as a hero? Have you ever been either surprised or disappointed by that, or any other athlete after hearing or seeing a story about them in the media?
Pro athletes are role models for kids whether we want them to be or not

Realize that just because a person is a good athlete, doesn't automatically mean they have good charcater
Monitor what kind of media kids are wtaching and how much of it they are being exposed to
Teach kids the difference between a good role model on the field vs. off the field
