Hero's Journey

- Katniss Everdeen hunts for animals outside of the fence even though she is not allowed to.
- Going hunting is the only time she is at peace with no distractions.
Early Childhood
The Call to Adventure
- Katniss’ sister, Primrose, got selected so she sacrificed herself instead.
- She leaves, Primrose, Gale, Mrs. Everdeen, and many more people at District 12, and adventures out with Peeta to prepare for The Hunger Games.
Crossing the Threshold
- Katniss and Peeta leave District 12 and go to training camp to get ready for the hunger games.
- They are overwhelmed by all of the luxury that they are rewarded on the train.
The Challenges/ Trials
- Katniss used the bow for her training skills rating.
- Everyone was watching as she shot the first arrow, but missed the target.
- Katniss realized no one was watching anymore, so she shot an apple that a
ham pig was holding.
Mentor
- Katniss' and Peeta's mentor is Haymitch.
- When they met him, Haymitch seemed useless.
- As he sees Katniss' skills, he gains hope that District 12 could win this year.
The Special Weapon
- Bow and arrow
- This was Katniss' weapon choice while competing in the The Hunger Games.
- She is very skilled while using the bow and arrow
The
Abyss
- The rules changed back to normal, and there could only be one winner.
- Katniss and Peeta had to make the decision on who would be the champion, and who would get killed.
The Transformation
- Katniss and Peeta were about to eat deadly berries.
- The game makers stop them from eating the berries, and declare both of them as winners.
The Return Home
- The new Hunger Games champions return back to District 12, everyone cheering for them.
- Now, all of Katniss' and Peeta's needs are provided for them and their family.
The Mastery
- Katniss got a feel for life in the capitol and noticed how different it is compared to District 12.
- Katniss does not like the capitol now, due to the fact they wanted only one victor even after the rules got changed to two.
