Shading

Blending shades

Cross Hatching

Cross hatching is the most effective when you're drawing in a realistic kind of style.

Normal shading is effective in both realistic drawings and comic book styles.

Sketching

Sketching is mostly used when someone needs a baseline / guideline when drawing. Most professional artists use sketching when they are drawing a character(s),an animal(s)/a creature(s) or

a landscape to help them remember what they thought of to draw instead of keeping it inside their head.

Perspective is something also included in drawing. It is used in the vast majority of drawings with more than one character, building and lots of other things. It is always used in landscape drawings / paintings unless an artist is using a different style of drawing ,which would be very rare in a realistic landscape drawing.

Inking

Inking is what comes after you've finished your drawing in pencil. Inking is sometimes hard, especially if you have shaded your drawing . This is sometimes the longest part of your drawing unless you have detailed your pencil drawing very much and doesn't have a lot of shading . If you are going to ink your drawing make sure you don't mind ruining it because if you have spent a lot of time on it you might ruin it if it is your first time.
