What is Cloud Seeding?
https://www.popsci.com/china-cloud-seeding-silver-iodide-furnace#page-2
Cloud seeding is happening around the world right now. It is when giant generators burn down chemicals, which then are put into a plane and spread over the clouds, helping form ice crystals and water in clouds. This can also be done by the generators directly, or shooting it into the air.
That crystallization then creates precipitation in the clouds, which provides plenty of much needed water to the surface.

As seen above, the generators or planes release silver iodide into the clouds, which aids the formation of water crystals, then producing precipitation.
Cloud seeding was invented in the US in the mid 1900's, and while it was used a little bit in America, the practice was never utilized on a grand scale.
However, that is clearly changing today, as countries like China have started to utilize the technology on a grand scale, forming huge projects that aim to bring plenty of water to their countries.
China is now producing around 55 billion tons of man-made precipitation per year.

There are many benefits of cloud seeding. First, as was mentioned before, it provides precipitation and water to drought stricken areas that desperately need it. This makes a city more hospitable and brings more people to it.
Also it can reduce crop damage, which is good for farmers and increases the wealth of the country as well because they can sell more of their produce.

Cloud seeding has many benefits, but what about the negatives? One is silver iodide toxicity. Silver iodide, the chemicals they shoot into the clouds, can be toxic to the Earth and humans. Also cloud seeding can have unexpected results, like tornadoes and extreme flooding, and it can be expensive to put into action, especially in poorer countries.

Our Opinion on Cloud Seeding
We think that people should continue to practice cloud seeding, and that the benefits far outweigh the risks. If we continue to cloud seed, that means thousands of people will have water, the economy will boom, and the whole country will prosper. Yes, if we continue we might also have slight health issues and issues for the environment, and it may be a bit expensive, but the benefits would greatly outweigh those.
