Most people know Germany lost world war 1 to Britain and the Allies. As a result, the government told Germany that they had to pay a fine of £6,000,000 for starting the war. They also had to give up some of its land and soldiers.

they used heavy black curtains or black paper to stop light getting through.This would make the planes not know where the city is so they cant bomb the city.

lots of children had to go far away from home (3.5 million) to save them self's from all the destruction and bombs. They had to go to random peoples houses and live with them till the war was over.

they took lots of things with them here are some of the things they normally took; teddy,games,books,glasses,rationing book,cloths and food for the train journey. They took what was most valuable to them or in a memory of there family.

they traveled by train not like us who travel by aeroplane or bus and it took them over 1000 miles.
