In 2010 the oak tree in the school started to die. Our school decided to use the wood to make crosses which would be located in every classroom in Loreto Normanhurst. We have this symbol to remind us of how jesus died on the cross for us because he loved as so much.

Mary Ward Statue
The statue of Mary Ward is located in the middle of the school in the Mary Ward quad. This is a statue of her striding out into the world to create a just future with God. This shows we are a Catholic school as Mary Ward believed in God and she followed his guidance all her life. By having this statue, we agree with Mary Ward.

Midday Gong
The gong occours everyday except Wednesday over the loudspeakers at 12. During the gong we stop to pray and reflect as a school on the words being said.

Cemetery
Our schools cemertery is located on the far side of oval down near the bush. Buried here is 45 members of the Loreto Normanhurst community and the IBVM. This shows Loreto Normanhurst is a Catholic school because we have a sacred space for those IBVM sisters to be buried.
