What Is Odyssey?
Oddessy is an epic poem written in 24 books. An ancient Greek poet named homer was the author of this epic.
Odysseus was an intellegent and clever leader of the greek. He had a wife named Penelope, and a son named Telemachus. He came up with and created the plan that would ultimately put an end to the Trojun War and destroy the city of Troy.

In this 24 poem-book series, it speaks about 10 year Trojun war, and inside of it, Odysseus' long and extensive journey home. This epic covers 3 different parts of the Odysseus' family during the war. His son, Telemachus, trying to find Odysseus, his wife Penelope trying deflect her suitors, and overall the main aspect of the story; Odysseus' long and lenthy journey home.

The epic starts off when Ajax and Odysseus compete to see who would get archillies' armor (which was retreived by Ajax after he was killed). This was important to them because it symbolized who would ultimately be the leader of the greeks. This would be determined by greeks by testing who had the better speech, and that person was Odysseus. In result of this, Ajax felt discredited and therefore had intentions to kill Odysseus. Athena likes Odyseus and drives ajax mad, leading him to kill livestock instead. He felt so ashamed, he commit suicide. Agamemnon was the king, but he did not run for the armor. He was a very ignorant king.

Odysseus was protected by Athena throughout this war. Odysseus led and guided the the soldiers during the war. He also came up with the bright idea that would put an end to the Trojun war, and ultamitly win and destroy the city of troy.
This epic is written in a poetic format, and is a 24 book long story.
The main idea of these books are hospitality, loyalty, and vengeance.
