Moses frees the Israelites from Egypt and leads them in the wilderness until his death. Joshua takes over and brings the people to the promised land.

Wandering in the Wilderness

40 years

Moses leads the people in the wildreness for 40 years until he dies and Joshua leads the people into the promised land. During this time Moses meets with God on Mt. Sinai to write the 10 commandments and the other Jewish laws

Samson

Samsom judges Isreal for 20 years. God blesses him with great strength to overcome the Philistines, but he tells Delilah the secret of his strength is in his hair which has never been cut. She betrays him and cuts his hair so he can be caught. The Philistines capture him and put out his eyes. Samson prays to God for strength one last time and pulls down the walls of the building, killing himself and the Philistines

David is annointed by Samuel afer Saul. David is God's chosen one, but he has to go into hiding when Saul tries to kill him. David rules many years as a good and faithful King. However, in his later years he commits adultery with Bathsheba ahd has her husband killed.

Solomon is gifted wisdom by God. He builds God's temple and is a very good king, but marries many wives from foreign nations and begins to worship their gods alongside God.

Elisha is the student of Elijah that continues to call out the sin of the Israelites and their kings. Despite his and Elijah's warnings, Israel does not turn back and evokes the wrath of God.

The Northern Kingdom of Israel has many idolatrous and sinful kings that lead to Israel's demise at the hands of Assyria

Jehu is annointed by Elisha and carries out a violent coup. He kills both the king of Israel and the king of Judah as well as Jezebel. He kills the priests of Baal as well. This ultimately leads to more coups which greatly weaken Israel

Unlike the Northern kingdom, the southern kingdom has a few good kings, but it is too little too late. God gives up his people to the Babylonian Empire
