..At the center of the park, there are two pillars sculpted with carabao heads which is sculpted by Guillermo Tolentino.

..These pillars serve as the symbolic landmark for the agriculture campus which later on replaced by the main pillars at the gate on 1967.

  • In a way, the carabao serves as the workhorse of the Filipino farmers in cultivating the land for agriculture.

  • The farmer in the sculpture reflects such value

  • In terms of resilience, the farmer and carabao have proven to withstood the test of time going through tough situations.

  • Agriculture is not an easy task. To reap the fruits of your labor, the farmer and the carabao must work hard and go through the toughest of storms.

  • A farmer must be determined enough to suffice the needs of his family since it's their primary source of livelihood.

  • The sculpture commemorates that UPLB was one of the pioneer institutions of agricultural higher learning in the Philippines.

  • Being the Philippines as an agricultural country, it immortalizes the farmer as one of the most valuable resource of our country.

  • The sculpture in the middle which consists of the farmer and the carabao, depicts teamwork while the two pillars of carabao heads shows unity.

  • These traits are prevalent in agriculture because to have good harvest and make it on time, farmers must have teamwork and be united.
