I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he will live. And whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?
~Jesus Christ~
13 For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless. 15 And we apostles would all be lying about God—for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave. But that can’t be true if there is no resurrection of the dead. 16 And if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. 18 In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! 19 And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world.
But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died.
“You can’t sit on the fence about resurrection. If Jesus really did die and rise from the dead, we must believe and follow him. We have no other options. He defeated death, the one thing no one has ever defeated…rejecting him if he really rose from the dead, which historians agree has a lot of support and evidence, is then a rejection of God himself, and what he had planned for your life”
Mark 15:13-14
"Crucify him they shouted.
Why? What crime has he committed? Asked Pilate.
But they shouted all the louder, crucify him!"
Mark 15:15
Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged and handed him over to be crucified.
What will they think of me?
I don’t believe in Jesus or highly skeptical of who He claims to be.
16 The soldiers took Jesus into the courtyard of the governor’s headquarters (called the Praetorium) and called out the entire regiment.17 They dressed him in a purple robe, and they wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head. 18 Then they saluted him and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!” 19 And they struck him on the head with a reed stick, spit on him, and dropped to their knees in mock worship. 20 When they were finally tired of mocking him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him again. Then they led him away to be crucified...vs.24--and they crucified him. Dividing up his clothes, they cast lots to see what each would get.
Jesus is no Big Deal
Mark 15:21
A passerby named Simon, who was from Cyrene, was coming in from the countryside just then, and the soldiers forced him to carry Jesus’ cross. (Simon was the father of Alexander and Rufus.)
Romans 16:13 Paul says to greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord; also his mother.
Mark 15:31-32 The leading priests and teachers of religious law also mocked Jesus. “He saved others,” they scoffed, “but he can’t save himself! 32 Let this Messiah, this King of Israel, come down from the cross so we can see it and believe him!” Even the men who were crucified with Jesus ridiculed him.
I don't need Jesus I'm good enough
I believe and I'll follow
Mark 15:39-- 39 When the Roman officer who stood facing him saw how he had died, he exclaimed, “This man truly was the Son of God!”
