Resolution: Robert refuses the big operation and decided not to have anymore.

Climax: Robert is given choice to do a big operation that could kill him but will make him pretty.

Exposition: On July 23, 1972, Robert Vincent Hoge was born in Brisbane, Australia. He was deformed

Falling Action: Robert thinks long and hard about the benefits and risks of this big operation before talking to his parents.

Rising Action: Robert has small operations on his face that doesn't make much progress.

-The tone is relaxed but, he gets defensive when someone talks about his looks.

"It wasn't the last time I cried about the way I looked, but It was the very last time I apologized to anyone else for it."(p. 190)

-by the end, he starts thinking deeper about things and becomes more decided

"what use is looking pretty if he can't even see himself?"(p. 199)
