his families influences on his fame

Pied beauty

the context Pied Beauty

this is one of many best works of Gerard Manly Hopkins and he wrote this poem during a time he was struggling with his faith and due to this struggle it had this influenced the main idea of this poem due to him thanking and appreciating that god had made such wonderful and beautiful things that he can see in nature.

"for rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;"

Quote 1

in this quote on line 3 he is describing the beauty of a animal and he has chosen trout and he is talking about the rose-moles which is a little red or rose type colour dot on the side of trout and he used the adjective, stipple which means many little speckles of dots and in this he implies that the rose-moles speckle upon all the other normal grey dots on trout this conveys that the rose-mole is a little special a special feature which is original to that trout and its like a birth mark that we have, it is special and different with each person we meet and exist. this also represents faith cause every person believes in a different thing, they pray to a different god.

"for skies couple-colour as a brinded cow"

Quote 2

in this quote it is conveying that the time is dawn or sunset and the sky is two toned like a brinded cow and here he use a simile here and he describes the sky at dawn as a brinded cow which is like spotted patch cow that has been shaved and this implies that the sky is filled with tiny clouds stippled upon the colourful sky and its image is really quite phenomenal like you are laying down in a meadow and u look up and you see the two toned sky with clouds stippled around and it calming and buetiful and implies that without god this would not exist and that he is still thanking god for what he has done for the world.

"He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change: Praise him."

Quote 3

in this quote it mainly focuses on his gratefulness and his thankfulness of the world that god created and want the readers to praise him and this reflects the main theme of the poem which is faith, and he is implying that god made the world the way it is and the world is beautiful and through this poem it really makes and changes your understanding of the world and makes you notice that the world is more interesting and phenomenal sand it makes you curious to read more and its intriguing from Gerard point of view on how the world is all adazzle.

why did Gerard write this poem

why did the writer write this poem

i think that he wrote this poem to strengthen his connection to god and to influence other people opinion on religion and the world and it really has that ability to change you opinion and it also puts this image in your head due to how he used so many descriptive words and the words he used where different from the words we normally use today and it really is persuasive cause it forces you to under stand the poem more due to not knowing that adjective.
