Topic 4

In Zones

The in zones are parallel because they are the same distance apart and it you put lots of them together, they would never cross each other. (highlighted is in zones).

Dashes

The dashes are parallel because they are the same amount of space between each of them and no matter how far to each side you go, the dashes will never cross each other.

Parallel Lines

Field Goals

Parallel because the barrier lines that lets you know when you have a field goal are two straight lines without intersecting so the goal is fair.

Parallel Lines

Yard Lines

Parallel because they extend from one side of the field to the other without intersecting.

Side Lines are highlighted.

The side lines are parallel because they are at two seperate ends of the field and will never cross; otherwise, the field wouldn't be even. Therefore the game would be unfair for one of the teams.

Side Lines

Stadiums

The stadiums are parallel because the seats will forever go in one direction and never cross. Otherwise, some people might sit on one another.

Logos on Football Jersey

The logos on the football jerseys are parallel band perpendicular because the lines cross one another at certain points and they go straight without touching other lines.

Design of Helmets

The design on some of the football helmets are both parallel and perpendicular lines because it has lines that cross one another and they have lines that are the same exact length apart. Example: Indiana Football Helmet.

Both

Design of the Stadiums

The stadiums are designed that the seats are parallel and the rows that the people come up are perpendicular.

Formation of Plays

The formation of the plays are parallel because they stand in a straight line directly across from one another and they are perpendicular because the players cross directly in the middle of the parallel lines.

The corner of the field

The corner of the field makes a right angle. Therefore, the lines are perpendicular to one another.

Perpendicular Lines

Cleat Shoelaces

The cleat shoelaces are parallel because there are vertical rows that would never cross. They are perpendicular because the laces cross a lot of times.

Logos on the Jersey

The logos on the jersey are perpendicular because the logos cross each other at a point on some of the jerseys.

Field Goal

The field goal is perpendicular because it has one line that runs into the ground, while a line runs over the top of it.

Football Laces

The football laces are perpendicular because the stitching goes across a line.

A world without parallel and perpendicular lines

Everything would be rounded and wouldn't have any angles or lines.
