On April 14, Fords theater got a letter informing them that the president would be attending their showing of "Our American Cousin". When Booth visited the theater that afternoon, he heard the news from a worker.

In the end, Wilkes was prepared for anything during the assassination.

The Plan

After John Wilkes Booth heard that Lincoln would be attending the theater that night, he established a new plan with his group of criminals to kill the president.

John Wilkes Booth was depressed. The Confederacy lost to the union on April 14, 1865.

The weapon he chose was a .44 caliber, single shot, muzzle loading pistol. He also had a extremely sharp bowie knife just in case he misfired.
