"Love is Easy" is not like other McFly songs because it heavily features the ukelele that which is the first song they've written with it. It was written and composed by the band themselves and was partially inspired by the movie "Love Actually" according to Dougie. It also features an excerpt from "It's a wonderful life", a 1946 film.
McFly is a British Pop Rock band that formed in 2003 and is still an active band today. The band includes: Tom Fletcher who does lead vocals, guitar and piano in the band; Dougie Joyner who is the band's back vocals and bassist; Harry Judd who plays drums and Danny Jones who does lead vocals and guitar. In 2004, McFly was signed to Island Records until December 2007 when they created their own label "Super Records"
If this is love
Then love is easy
It's the easiest thing to do
If this is love then love completes me
Cause it feels like I've been missing you
A simple equation
The author(s) say(s) that love is simple when it compares a simple equation and love.
Today
I'm laughing the clouds away
I hear what the flowers say
And drink every drop of rain
And I see
Places that I have been
In ways that I've never seen
My side of the grass is green
Ooh I can't believe that it's so simple
It feels so natural to me
Rhyme in this song creates a happy, upbeat and fun tone. It keeps the audience engaged and helps the song flow better and smother. Also, it adds to the catchiness of the song.
I this is love
Then love is easy
It;s the easiest thing to do
If this is love
Then love completes me
Cause it feels like I've been missing you
A simple equation with no complications
To leave you confused
If this is love, love, love
This song contains an excerpt from the movie "It's a Wonderful Life"
It relates to the song because in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life", the love that the main character George and Mary have is not complicated at all. They are just childhood sweethearts that marry.
"What is it you want, Mary?
What do you want?
You Want the moon?
Just say the word Mary and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey. That's a pretty good idea I'll give you the moon, Mary."
The theme of this song is love. It explains that love is not complicated at all. Also, it explains that if it's true love, then it shouldn't really be complicated. It also portrays a very different point of view of love because many songs portray love being a very complicated thing whereas, this song shows that love is easy.
