The photograph above shows an arid climate in Africa. A climate in which temperatures reach 120F and some locations go 6-7 years without rain; where water holes/oasis are rare and the only places with vegetation (thick trees and brush).
One modification in the arid climate zones is people living in the area creating dirt roads. The land doesn't have built in roads or many resources to make them; this causes people to use off-road vehicles, walk, and use camels as forms as transportation that are more functional with dirt roads.
On adaptation in the arid climate zones in living in mud/clay homes. Because of lack of resources people living in this climate use the most abundant material for their homes, clay/mud. They change the material, layout, etc. of their homes to better suit living to the climate while changing themselves to adapt to the harsh conditions.
The photograph above shows a tropical wet climate. This climate zone can be located in Africa along the equator. It is a climate in which a variety of animals are located and it's a rainy-wet-warm rainforest.
One adaptation found in the tropical wet climate zone is fishing. As in this zone it can rain 60in. a year, so water is abundant. The people living there have adapted to this and decided to use the lemons and make lemonade by fishing in the water forms
An adaptation found in the tropical wet climate is deforestation or the cutting down of trees. The people living there cut down the trees as a way to provide land as well as collect resources. They change this land to get money, resources, and land.
The photograph to the left shows the tropical wet/dry climate. This climate can commonly be found in the Savanna. It has rainfall it its wet season and a drought in the dry. It has grasses, shrubs, and trees and large animals such as lions and cheetahs.
One adaptation in the tropical wet and dry climate is farming. The farmers must change what they plant so they can produce crops (ex. due to Africa's unreliable climate wheat and rice aren't grown). This also is an adaptation for the people living there as their diets must change to get the nutrients needed to survive.
A modification found in the tropical wet and dry climate is irrigation systems. In order to farm and take full advantage of the agricultural industry farmers must dig out sections of the land for water as due to unreliable conditions many crops don't grow and thrive.
The picture above shows a semiarid climate of Africa. This climate is barren and very hot, causing little vegetation that consist plants with waxy leaves, deep root systems, and overall well adapted features that allow it to survive.
One adaptation in the semiarid climates is walking. The people change their form of transportation as there are little resources to make roads, cars, etc. The peoples main form of transportation is walking and this also can be seen as they walk far distances to gather water as it is scarce in many places.
A modification in semiarid climates is digging. The people living there must dig irrigation systems, man-made oasis, as well as ditches. These "holes" mostly provide water as it is not avaliable in all places in this climate zone.
