By:Ayanna Horn, Lauryn Holman, and Lesley Hall Jr.

May 10, 2016

Period 4

Downfall Arouses Pity or Fear

When Romeo arrives to the tomb, Juliet perceives to be dead. He is saddened. He then makes the decision to kill himself to be with Juliet. Juliet awakes and realizes Romeo is dead. She then kills herself. This shows the audience that love causes people to do foolish things.

Imperfections or "Human" Despite Noble Nature

Fate Is Controlled by Flaw

Romeo's imperfections are his lust for girls. He is impetuous. He does not carefully evaluate situations before acting.

  • Since Romeo is lustful, it causes him to falsely be in love. Rosaline no longer wanted to be in a relationship causing Romeo to be heartbroken.
  • This heart break will later lead him to a party where he finds his next his love, Juliet. Tybalt is upset about Romeo's presence. In response, he had intentions to kill Romeo, but ends up killing Mercutio. As a result, Romeo kills Tybalt and is banished from Verona.

Fatal Flaw

  • Romeo's fatal flaw is that he is lustful. He tends to "fall in love" quickly without true reason.

Must Be Physically or Spiritually Wounded by Experience

  • He was spiritually wounded from the loss of Rosaline and Mercutio.
  • He was wounded physically by the fight with Tybalt.

Born of Noble Birth

  • Romeo was born of noble birth because he is a Montague.
  • The Montague's are one of the most well known families in Verona.

Suffered More Than He Deserves

Bears No Responsibility For Flaw, Only For Actions Influence By Flaw

  • Romeo has referred himself fortune's fool after being banished.
  • He decides to end his problems by suicide.
  • Romeo was sad that he was banished and could not be with Juliet.
  • He has suffered more than he deserved because he was immensely hurt when he received news that Juliet died. He was not aware of the plans Friar and Juliet conceived about her fake death.
