Genres
Genre: genre is the type of book/ explanes what it is about
Poetry: usually in verse, most of the time rhyme, usually short pieces of writing
Science Fiction: based om science/ usually involves the future, advanced technology
Historic Fiction: setting is long ago, has some real and some made up people and events
Traditional: old stories passed down through culture/ includes folk and fairy tales, myths, legends, and epics
Informational: gives facts, ideas, and principles/ things that are proven to be true, usually about science, math, or social studies
Realistic Fiction: is lifelike/ could happen, but is made up/ fairly modern
Biography: about a real persons life written by a researcher
Fanatasy: Has magical and unrealistic creatures/ made up
