Childhood
When Hans was little the German annexed Austria so the Ament family went to Belgium and immediately applied for visas to the U.S. After the got their visas they were on a waiting list for the berths of a ship. While they were waiting Hans went to school and learned Flemish.
Birth and Family
Hans Ament was born on February 15, 1934 in Vienna, Austria. He has 1 sibling, an older brother named Alfred. He was the son of Max and Ernestina Ament.
Life in the Holocaust
During the Holocaust Hans mother got ill and his dad got captured so he had to go to a children's home. With over 40 other Jewish kids. On April 6, 1944 the Nazis raided the home and captured Hans and took him to a death camp along with a lot of other children. Hans got murdered on April 15, 1944.
