My subject of research is the Apache tribe's interesting ritual of becoming an adult.The Apache tribe has accepted my kind request, after making sure that I was just a University of Toronto anthropology student wanting to aquire more information on different Native American tribes, to take a step into their world and observe their rite of passage ritual. as long as I showcase them my final notes I take as I observe so none of it is subjective or incorrect.

Rite of Passage
The Apache tribe is a tight cultural group that like to stick together and stay as a strong group.The members under 18 see their elders all as their considerable other parents and rolemodels because of all their teachings as they grow up.Their main goal in life is to stay strong throughout life and never give up, which is the meaning behind their rite of passage of holding 2 heavy stones on both hands standing through the night.The apache tribe believe that this showcases that the member learns that in life you truly have to be strong and never let go and give up because things will get better which happens when they remove the stones.Tribe members must go through this act when they hit 18 years old.If they fail to complete the passage they must continue trying, once they finish it they get burnt in their body a small x to signify they are true adults.They cannot move on to being an adult and continuing their lives through things such as marriage until they have the x.

Young adult must be washed in the certain Apache lake in which they believe that if they bathe in it they will fully pure for the day.
