Wretch 32- Wretchrospective

The imagery that connotes university for example the trail of the caps usually worn at university being thrown in the air by the characters on the island which is a stereotypical occurrence by the students during graduation.

In addition to this we see the bear being launched into the air which gives the impression of being propelled in life.

Furthermore the vast use of vibrant colours creates a amine/cartoon style approach which was the target for the cover.

This would work in synergy with the video as we often used the multi-coloured drawn outline of the singer.

The aspect of this I wanted to

From my case studies I have decided I am going to do a cover based on Kanye West Graduation in doing the cartoon effect however, I am planning to do it in the style of Ne-Yo Non- Fiction where the graphic designed image blends into a photography shot image to give it a dual effect. For the magazine I am going to make a similar poster to the one used in the magazine however I am going to adapt the image to cater to that of a poster by adding on information that would talk about distribution release date and featured artists as I have found to be seen in the Wretchrospective advert however I want to use the styling of the Jay-Z album because of the colour-scheme of contasting different tones of white with a contrasting colour scheme.

seems to be a common trend album adverts. At the bottom of the advert you can see the record label Jay-Z is signed to and the personalized website for the album. In this the colour contrast between the red and grey-scale works as we can see a limited colour pallet however the colours

negative space of the back cover because it is all on a white background so, the contrast with the grey-scale presents a tonal range.

NE-YO- Non-Fiction

This album from NE-YO has a interesting colour scheme for the front cover as it has the images in a grey-scale and the text in the colour red to create contrast. In addition to this the image of NE-YO has two girls masked into him which is a concept I wish to combine with the cartoon effect as a cross

Another magazine I had looked at was at of Ed Sheeran as I was looking at the contrasting colour scheme of the magazine article and how like Wretch 32 has a snippet of the album cover however the difference between them is that instead of displaying the featured artists and platforms it

is available on he choose to have a review of the album from Q magazine which is well-known music magazine publicist. The colour scheme

between reality and fantasy which is similar to that of the A$ap Rocky cover. Another aspect that I wish to interpret for my work is the back cover of a back shot of NE-YO with all the tracks scattered around him occupying the negative space around. We see this printed downwards with the sales information at the
