Silhouettes

A silhouette is NOT a shadow.

(SILLOW)

(ETS)

A silhouette is when the light is behind what we are looking at, so all we can see is a dark shape.

You CAST a shadow. You ARE a silhouette.

Artists use silhouettes to make a picture simple.

Today

We are going to paint in the middle ground on our painting, by making it a

silhouette

On our paintings, the tree and the ground are silhouettes.

Remember "Y" Trees?
