Latitude Lines-
Latitude lines run horizontally on a map.
Latitude lines are parallel to each other.
Latitude lines run parallel to the Equator on both sides.
Longitude Lines-
Longitude lines appear to run vertically. They run from the North Pole to the South Pole.
Longitude lines run on either side of the Prime Meridian.
The EQUATOR is located at 0 degrees latitude. It is an IMAGINARY line that divides the world in half horizontally.
The PRIME MERIDIAN is located at 0 degrees longitude. It is an IMAGINARY line that divides the world in half vertically. It runs through Greenwich, England.
Greece is a country in southeastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. The country has land borders with Albania, the Republic of Macedonia and Bulgaria to the north, and Turkey to the east.
