Peter Anton creates his work on a smaller scale than Claes Oldenburg and finishes his work of with a coat of gloss.
I think Peter Anton's work is very creative and colourful. He uses his materials well to produce 3D sculptures that are hard to distinguish from real food. His sculptures are usually particularly large so every small intricate section is finished off to a high standard. In my opinion I like his artwork because the bright colours are specifically picked to resemble the real thing and the details are perfectly selected and placed. He coats his finished pieces in gloss to give them a shiny effect and a clean finish. My favourite Peter Anton piece is 'Boxed Doughnuts' as the doughnuts are replicated well and have a nice gloss finish.
When people view any of his sculptures for the first time there first reaction would be "Wow" and the artwork stands out and catches your eye because of the bright colours and shiny gloss finish.
Whereas Claes Oldenburg creates
his work on a much larger scale and mainly uses steel, aluminum and polyurethane.
He uses a variety of materials including wood, resin, plaster, metal and clay.
