Marine West Coast Climate

The Marine West Coast is usually located along the west coast of mid-latitude continents, or about mid-way of the Tropics and the antarctic/arctic circle. In the Marine west coast some of the landforms, and other plantation includes large mountains, and thick forests.

The Marine West Coast climate region has a vast population of birds. The majority of the climate is covered in small animals, and a variety of species of bears. Some other animals such as foxes, deer, jaguars, squirrels, lynx, and dolphins, also make the Marine West Coast their habitat.

In the Marine West Coast climate, they usually receive a regular amount of rainfall that supports thick forests, and a variety of plant life including

(evergreen trees, (conifers) spruce, redwood, pine. Also many types of ferns and grasses grow in this region. The moderate temperature, and high amounts of precipitation results in the growing of massive and beautiful trees such as the redwood tree. The Redwood tree is the tallest tree in the world!

Location

Precipitation

In this climate type the amount of precipitation differs than other regions. Some parts of this region only get 30 inches of rain, while other parts receive up to 98 inches! In some places it rains 150 out of 365 days per year. Whenever regions receive so much rain (such as North America) we have "Temperate Forests."

Latitude Lines

The Marine West Coast can be found on the west coast of continents between 35 degrees and 60 degrees north and south latitudes.

Weather Systems

There are not very extreme changes in the weather patterns, but there are many thunder storms in the region.

Vegetation

Countries/ States involved in Region

Some examples of where this climate can be found are Seattle, Wellington, New Zealand; Vancouver, British Columbia; and London, England. t also affects the coasts of British Columbia, Canada, Alaska, Oregon, Colombia and Washington. The climate is affected by the position of mountains.

Food and Hunting

In the Marine West Coast, people do not have to live in extreme conditions. Therefor, it is an ordinary, typical lifestyle.most of the areas affected by this climate have ordinary houses, and buy their food, and necessities from stores.

Temperature

With few extremes in temperature, this is a very mild climate. The warmest month averages to about 72 degrees, and the coldest rarely averages to 30 degrees. The ocean keeps the air over the landscape warm in the winter, and cool in the summer. this creates a wet, but mild climate. It is similar to the Mediterranean climate, because of the ocean currents, but differs greatly in the amount of precipitation.
