Cons

In my context I would probably skip this approach - it's cost prohibitive and feels somewhat overwhelming with the number of topics addressed.

I would prefer to stick to making plans with my specific students and culture in mind.

*Cost - $125 US for each grade-level, extra for supporting materials

Pros

*A one-size-fits-all approach doesn't consider the pre-existing culture of a school (Sparks, 2010)

*Resources are available for parents/families

*Wide range of topics may be difficult to cover in depth

*Materials are age-appropriate and consider developmental stage (Seider, 2012)

*There is a focus on all three types of character

(wiseskills.com, n.d.)

*The social-emotional focus fits with our new BC curriculum (Province of British Columba, 2015)

*Premade lessons and activities make it easy to implement for busy teachers

(wiseskills.com, n.d.)
