Outcomes:
- Student on track rates were much lower in 3rd grade than in previous years.
- 6th grade had a more consistent year than previous years. Ms. McConnell was instrumental in this.
- 8th grade has the largest cohort of students with IEPs. Ex. Week 25 for progress reports, of the 13 students off track 8 have an IEP, 2 were attendance only, and 3 were all boys with reading only.
Counselor Duty during these weeks:
Week 15- NWEA Prep and Testing
Week 25- PARCC Prep and Testing
- 7th and 8th grade students received approximately 50 sessions to address Naviance, High School Readiness 6 to 16, or SEL lesson

Areas to Improve:
Crisis
Intervention Reflection
- 4 response calls and interventions during 2015-2016 School Year
How do I continue with counseling tasks and manage testing?
- 15 (+) response calls, interventions, all but 3 met criteria for investigation or assessment during 2016-2017.
- More strategic planning to meet student needs.
- Creating a year long calendar that builds in time for testing around other duties
- Reduce the number of priorities into manageable pieces- focus on the largest gaps.
- Once a month counseling lesson's on Fridays for 5th and 6th equaling approx. 7 lessons
- Goal- Ensure there is understood time and space for these students to receive appropriate interventions.
- Struggle- Getting paper work back from parents, parents following through, involving teachers in the process
- Trauma informed- Changing perspective from "special treatment" and "faking it" to questioning, wondering and supporting.
- Creation of a comprehensive referral/SEL MTSS Process and strategic use of community partner.
- Use of SEL curriculum at a Tier I level at every grade level.
- Once a month during the Investment classes- Catania needs to serve 5th and 6th in the counseling curriculum.
- MTSS SEL team and/or BHT needs to be created
High School Planning, use Naviance and 6 to 16 lessons to expose 5th-8th graders to future planning.
- Lack of whole school process for behavioral MTSS
- Lack of teacher accountable for behavior.
- Missing the "why" behind referrals, their importance and why they are "devastating"
