The battle took place in a number of places in Egypt, like at the mouth of the Niger. It also took place in Southern France. It took place in the fall to avoid summer heat. The seventh crusade lasted from 1248-1254

The failure of this crusade caused the pope's power to decline. It weakened the feudal nobility and increased the king's power. The fall of Constantinople weakened the Byzantine Empire. Trade expanded between Europe and southwest Asia, trading goods like spices, fruits, and cloths. Many knights died in the crusade though.
