As said before, the Mackenzie Gas Project was first proposed in 1970. Fast forward 52 years, Imperial Oil finally has clearance to build the Mackenzie Gas Pipeline. The deadline for this mega project is on December 31st of 2022

The Imperial Oil company is going to build the Mackenzie Gas Project, which will after be called "Mackenzie Gas Pipeline" or "Mackenzie Valley Pipeline" after the building of the mega project is completed.
The Mackenzie Gas Project is a project that was proposed in 1970. It was suppose to be a pipeline that transported about 2.5 trillioin cubic metres of natural gas from the Mackenzie River Delta, and Beaufort Sea, through the North West Territories and tie into northern Alberta's gas pipeline.
The Mackenzie Gas Pipeline is going to be built in the Mackenzie River Delta and Beaufort Sea. Mackenzie River Delta being located in North West Territories and the Beaufort Sea located in North West Territories, Northern Yukon, and Alaska.
The Aboriginal People are afraid that they are selling out to these companies. Others feel conflicted and want to maintain their traditional values. And a select few are concerned that the amount of workers coming in to work on the Mackenzie Gas Project will create social problems among them
The petitioners of PermaFrost Media are concerned that the original budget to build the Mackenzie Gas Pipeline has drastically increased for the years
Nature Canada is concerned that the Mackenzie Gas Project will affect bird habitats and the population of birds that live up north. They are also afraid that the construction of the Mackenzie Gas Pipeline will negatively impact the animals and environment in the surrounding area of the construction. Another problem that they have addressed is the huge economical footprint and scar on the Earth if we will leave if we build the Mackenzie Gas Pipeline. They have also mentioned that they will start global warming up north.
