Priming Effect

Results

  • Experimental group 1. who see positive images

- refreshing, being free, relaxed, trip, happiness, cool, rest, relaxed

  • Experimental group 2. who see negative images

- stress, annoyance, regrettable, feel pressure, discomfort

Results of Experiment

Experiment

Discussion

negative Experimental Group

6/10 - help the experimenter2

Positive Experimental Group

7/10 - help the experimenter2

We got a different result from what we expected!!!

2. And then we formulate hypothesis.

  • People who see positive pictures will help people in trouble than others by Priming effect.
  • People who see negative pictures will not help people in trouble than others by Priming effect.

The gap between group 1 & group 2 just only one.

We realize that we have to be careful of number of showing pictures.

- Maybe the number of showing pictures have an effect on this results.

3. We divided the subjects in our experiment into two groups.

- 10 people for positive, 10 peole for negative images.

Acting of dropping stuff differd all the time.

4. We make a situation to see how they react for it.

The Situation

Priming Effect seems to correlate with this experiments but it doesn't show up clearly.

1. Show them(subjects) our images that we prepared.

2. Asked them(subjects) what they're thinking about images

and what's going through their heads.

Subject

Experimenter 1.

1. After the first tests, following the trail of the subjects and dropped experimenter2's own items naturally.

2. And watch how they(subjects) respond it.

Experimenter 2.

Experiment

1. Prepare positive & negative images.

Priming Effect

What is Priming?

- Priming is an implicit memory effect in which exposure to a stimulus influences a response to a later stimulus.

‘implicit memory effect’ - whatever priming is, it is occurring below the surface of conscious thought.

‘exposure to a stimulus’ - this stimulus can be auditory, visual, tactile, etc. and we call it a ‘prime'.

‘influences a response’ - the aforementioned stimulus is affecting later behavior in someway

‘to a later stimulus’ - and it is affecting behavior in a certain environment
