Fetal Tissue Collection
- Clean your scissors with an alcohol swab to prevent maternal blood contamination
- In the container
- Cut a 5cm piece of the umbilical cord
- Placenta collection is optional
- Clean amnion fetal surface with an Alcohol swab
- Elevate amnion on fetal side of placenta with pickups and cut a circle around it
- Grab placental tissue and cut a1 cm of tissue
- "Wash” tissue with sterile saline to remove clots or blood
- Place tissue on the specimen cup
