After the war Wilson became a professor in geophysics at the University of Toronto, where he stayed until 1974.
In 1974 he became the director general of the Ontario Science Centre.

Early Life
In 1930 he was the first person to graduate from a Canadian university with a degree in geophysical studies at Trinity college, University of Toronto.
He then studied at St. John's college, Cambridge, Princeton, and Cambridge again.
He also served with the Royal Canadian Engineers during WW2, even reaching the rank of colonel.
Success in Science
During his career he established global faults and the structure of the continents.
His work had important impacts on the theories of continental drift, seafloor spreading and convection currents with in the Earth.
