Writing on the wall

I think that this artifact will lead us to a lot of clues. We think that it was buried under sand for a long time and it stayed safe, and that the owner of the journal was writing in it right before they fled to another country. They were hiding from someone or something. We came back home, and we'll probably go back next week to find more clues.

Last week My team and I, found an ancient journal in Italy.

When a member of my team was digging, she hit something, it wasn't too hard but it wasn't soft, she pulled it out and realized that it was some type of leather book. It was hard to read, but we could understand some words. The words said: Today we have to leave, and i’m scared. After we found the journal, we had to dig very carefully because there could be other important information right under us. We also had to record/measure every location we found object in. We didn't find anything that could give us more clues about the people.

We came back home, and we'll probably go back next
