A single thing like mirror is very meaningful to others, even if it is flowers, paper, or anything else for some people it's very important to them.

The main focus of the story:

The mirror is the main focus because: when the mother gave the mirror to her daughter the young woman kept the mirror near her. Once every year, she would open it up. Her mother’s words always proved true and within that mirror she saw her mother’s face. Oh, the joyful surprise! It was her mother, more beautiful each time that she looked. She seemed to smile at her daughter and the daughter smiled back at her. As long as she kept a smile on her face, that happy mirror reflected her mother’s smile back at her."

The mother wants to see a smiling face to her daughter that`s why she gave to her the mirror. The daughter is seeing her mother every time she looks at the mirror so it makes her smile and she remembers everything about her mother.

The Happy Mirror

The mirror which the father has given to the mother is one of the most important things in the story. As the mother looks to the mirror she saw a smiling face that actually looks like her, when you look in the mirror the person will adopt whatever the image of the person holding the mirror. The mother saw that the image in the mirror is a happy face that means that she is happy despite how their life as a family is. But after a long time, the mother grew tired of looking at her face and decided to save it for her daughter.

Also the little girl did her JOB in being a good daughter to her mother. Until finally the father came home, the daughter and the mother meet the father in a very happy way. There you can see that distance and lapse of time is not a hindrance to a family`s happiness. The father then gave some presents to his daughter and wife. A beautiful doll and a box of cake for his daughter and a Mirror for his wife.

Summary

The Happy Mirror Story is a story about a perfect family in Japan. The father and mother is the model for their child as it grows older so when she finally grows into a girl, she became a good daughter to her parents. The father as a good provider left his family because the emperor told him to do so. The father sacrificed to walk all the way to Tokyo just to fulfill his job as like what the sacrifice of longing his family for a long time. On the other side, the mother never left her child and also fulfills her job as a mother in taking good care of her daughter while the father is away.
