Wealth is present throughput Beowulf. When Beowulf defeats Grendel, Grendel's mother, the dragon, and many other foes he was rewarded with treasure for his heroic deeds. Gold is also given to the family or people of a fallen warrior. Of course wealth is a sign of power like with King Hrothgar and Beowulf's king.
In Beowulf your strength defined you, defined your life. The ability to be a great warrior or hero could change a person's status and bring them rich.
The supernatural appears several times through out Beowulf. Grendel and his mother are prime examples as well as Beowulf whose fighting skills are unparalleled. When Beowulf goes to fight Grendel's mother he ends up underwater all day. Of course another obvious display of the supernatural is the dragon that ends up causing the death of Beowulf.
Tradition is a large part of Beowulf. When a warrior dies, the family must be compensated so not to start blood feuds and heroes must receive rewards for their bravery. Customs such as warriors boasting of their prowess and challenging each other to prove who is more formidable was common and expected in Beowulf's time.
Religion is mentioned several times through out the story. Beowulf strongly believes in God as does most of the other warriors. Grendel is also the descendant of Cain. Several times after battles Beowulf claims God did most of the work and wanted him to win and when things go badly the people believe that Good is angry with them.
