The Hopi tribe
The Hopi tribe was a peaceful tribe.
Many people may not but the Hopi indians were experts at making pottery and woven
rugs. They were also great hunters. When hunting animals the Hopi indians used carved
rocks, animal bones, traps, and large sticks.
A few of the most popular weapons they
would use were bows and arrows, knives,
spears and arrow heads. The bow and
arrow was one of their favorite weapon.
Mohawk fishermen used spears for hunting animals and fishing poles for fishing.
Mohawk men used bows and arrows, clubs, spears, and shields when in war. Other tools they used were flint knives and stone adz.
The Navajo indians used multiple tools and weapons.A couple of them were tomahawks, knives, sticks, Bolas, and blowguns.
Blowguns are used for shooting poison at birds, but were rarely used in battle.
The Navajo indians also used tomahawks, which were basically axes normally used during war, and bolas were ropes with heavy balls at the end used for catching animals.
The Pomo Tribe

Animal hide was used in clothing and shoes such as Moccasins.
Feathers and porcupine quills were used in clothing and for
decoration.
Did you know the most popular weapon that the Cree tribe used was the bow an arrow? The Bow an arrow was not only used for hunting but also used in war and for protection.
The Crees also used spears, clubs and knives for hunting
protection and war.
Cree mothers traditionally carried their babies in cradleboards
on their back.
Pomo bow and arrows-
Did you know that the Pomo indians only used
bows and arrows for hunting and protection?
They made their bow and arrows out of redwood
bark, tree branches, and arrow heads.
When the Pomo indians would hunt an animal they would use their teeth for decoration, and they would make a basket to put items in.( In Northern California where my dad grew up, their is a women named Susan Billie, and she is a Pomo indian and she is famous for her beaded artwork. In fact she has some beaded artwork in the Smithsonian museum.)
The Pomo indians were great fisherman. They used spears nets and wooden traps to catch fish in.

The chinook tribe
The Chinook tribe were mostly peaceful, but still needed to use weapons such as bows and arrows spears, axes and clubs were used to hunt for food and to keep their tribe safe. Clubs were not
used often, but the warriors who used them
would have beautiful designs and symbols
carved in them. The Chinooks used
spears for lunging or throwing,
and armor for protection in
war.
