Today, Individuals live in a modern world where things are gradually improving and innovating especially the usual things used by people like the writing tools. the purpose of this study is to explore, discover, and test the other not so harmful components that can be an alternative materials for substitute Ink for Marker. Which is much safer than the leading product people used today.

Hypothesis

• Basella Alba can be an alternative ink for markers.

• Much more safe than the leading brand that individuals using frequently.

• Supposing that Basella Alba has a great components characteristics for an eco-friendly pen for smooth writing on even surface like whiteboard.

Significance of the Study

• the significance of findings from this study will focuses on the other alternative ink for marker to lessen the usage of chemical components of the leading brand product of marker and patronize the eco-friendly product.

• The result of the study will help the consumer to become aware and smart for choosing the right marker.

Scope and Limitations

• This product is for Art Design and writing Purposes. The Organic ink is intended for smooth surface like whiteboard.

• It is not applicable on thin papers (such as crepe paper, parchment paper etc).

• Refilling the pen is depend on the usage of the marker.

Review of Related Literature

ANCIENT INK

The earliest inks were known to have been produced from iron gall, oil, ink-producing animals, and elements such as lead and carbon, just to name a few. Fruits such as pomegranate were used by the medieval British, while earlier civilizations used natural dyes from saffron, turmeric, weld, and various logwoods. These are usually mixed with water stabilized with a natural gum or other similar bases.

Methodology

Procedure:

1. Prepare the materials and flatten the newspaper on the floor to set up the experiment.

2. Get the 2 empty jar and transfer the used crude oil separately.

3. In the first jar put 1mg of flour, fine charcoal and mixed.

4. In the second jar put a 5 mg of Used Crude Oil .Mixed it well.

5. In the third jar put 10 mg of crushed Basella Alba to extract the fruits with salt and vinegar using of mortar and pastel

. Mixed it well. (no other liquid component)

6. After doing the 3 to 5 procedure use a clean dropper to fill the empty pen and bond paper for testing (clean it first before you refill another liquid substance. one at a time every liquid components). After doing the 6 procedure record what happen in 3 liquid components.

The difference between those studies to this study that it will develop the other use of Alugbati Ink for whiteboard markers that last with a good scent for good with ingredients labeled on the package. As an expected results, it can be an ink for markers. But as the experiment conducting, the possible errors it faced would be the seasons of the fruit and the location itself for the marker. It’s so hard to find a source of this fruit due to its seasonal weather to produce.

Recommendation

• The researchers recommend this product to the ink production here in the Philippines to start a good and eco-friendly ink.

• The researchers would like to suggest a ball pen type for this kind of ink so that it is not only work for marker but also for ball pen.

• For the future action and improvement of this product, it’s better to have a watercolor paint product.

• And lastly for suggestion, the researchers suggest scented markers to stimulate the kids to write on their papers.

Conclusion

Alugbati fruit extracts has a great possibility to become an ink because Alugbati is known to have a high Anthocyanin content and is highly recommended for ink production.

And lastly, the big difference between the leading brands to this extracted fruit of Alugbati is more harmless because it is made from organic material wherein it’s applicable for children who’s their hobby are drawing, writing or crafting projects.
