Run On Sentences

Run ons and Fragments

Fixing Run Ons

Use a Comma and a Joining Word

Period and Capital Letter

Run ons are common, but they are not welcome!

Think about the relationship between the two thoughts and add a conjunction to join the ideas together...don't forget the comma!

Make one sentence into two...find where the thought changes from one to the other and insert a period. Don't forget to CAP the next letter!

I love the circus; I like the clowns.

Because I love the clowns.
