Teaching Others What Establishes Real Success (TOWERS) is a leadership development program that promotes multicultural student engagement, learning and development. Activities include a “Success Series” of workshops, featured events and peer-to-peer discussions.

The Black Male Network is a program that focuses on the development of personal, social and academic tools for success. Activities include peer-to-peer discussions, workshops and guest speakers.

Employment
OMSS student assistants support the implementation of a variety of special projects, programs and events. Work-study, non-work study positions as well as internships are available for Ferris students.

OMSS provides opportunities for students to assist with cultural awareness events and initiatives, as well as trainings to earn certification as a College Positive Volunteer and work with the Michigan GEARUP program.

Michigan GEARUP
Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs

The Michigan GEARUP Program's mission is to provide an opportunity for underrepresented students to discover first-hand the potential of a college education and to expose students to the information, knowledge and skills they need to complete high school and prepare themselves adequately for college entry and success.

College Positive Volunteers (CPVs) are those college students and their administrators who are aware of how they impact college enthusiasm and readiness of the K-12 youth they interact with as they volunteer in local communities.
