Strict Censorship

State Control of the Economy

China has very strict censorship, especially of the media. There are many censored including censorship of Chinese history. Many religious texts, publications and materials are banned or limited in China as well. China has also censored certain films, TV shows, music, video games and many other things. One of the biggest things is what China has banned on the internet including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Google services, etc.

Social Credit Score System: Assign every citizen a base score which will decrease when bad behavior is observed and will increase with good behavior. Punishments for antisocial/bad behavior include being blocked from travel, certain jobs and your children being unable to attend the best schools.

Facts About China

Is China Totalitarian?

Reflection

I think my life would be pretty different if I lived in China. I think I would actually go crazy living there because I would not be able to do most of the things I do. I use the internet so much it would just be hard for me. I would also always be wondering what I can and cannot do. I think I would just always be paranoid and constantly worried about my actions. Since so many things are censored or banned I would not know what to do.

China is not officially a totalitarian country/government, but it is starting to lean towards it. China's current leader, Xi Jingping, is a big influence on this.
