The Snake Boy

Origin

  • Boy would go bird hunting
  • Boy would give the birds to his grandmother
  • The family would get jealous
  • The boy said he would leave his family for the grandmother.
  • He went hunting again, this time coming back with deer horns.
  • He went to the hot house and asked his grandmother to leave him for the night.
  • Grandmother came back and found an uktena.
  • Grandmother would be in distress and family would encourage her to be with the boy.
  • This uktena terrified the town.
  • The uktena slithered to the river and dove in.
  • Grandmother would soon follow.
