THE TELEVISION

This is one of the important things we use in our lives....... the television. This important invention was invented by John Logie Baird. In January 1926 Baird was the first to demonstrate real television publicly. Other pioneering achievements followed, including the first transatlantic transmission, the first demonstrations of color television and stereoscopic television, and the first video recordings. In the 1930s he televised the Derby twice, and was the first to demonstrate cinema television in black-and-white and color. During World War II he developed high-definition and stereoscopic television in colour, and invented the first all-electronic colour television tube.

BRAILE

Louis Braille was the inventor of braille, a system of reading and writing used by people who are blind or visually impaired. Louis Braille got inspired because he was himself blind. He wanted to read and write. All he could do is talk and walk around with his cane. So he poked holes through paper making braille.

SMALL INVENTIONS

THE TRAMPOLINE

Some less important inventions were chocolate chip cookies, Snickers, Twinkies, and the Woopie-cushion. Charles Goetz made and began to sell the whipped cream spray cans in 1932. The year after, the popular board game Monopoly was invented by Charles Darrow.

This wonderful invention was a great

invention by George Nissen. He got inspired by acrobrats. This led Nissen to come up with a piece of equipment he called a bouncing rig. Using his parents' garage as a workshop, he simply strapped a canvas sheet to a rectangular steel frame. In 1934, with Larry Griswold, his gymnastics coach at the University of Iowa, Nissen put more bounce into it by connecting the canvas to the frame using the inner tubes. (These were later replaced by coil springs.)

MEDICAL INVENTIONS

The medical field also improved. Karl Landsteiner discovered blood types and in 1937 Bernard Fantus created a blood donor bank. A vaccine for yellow fever was also invented and scientists found a way to isolate vitamin C. Sulfa drugs were also created to prevent diseases and were used as antibiotics.

INTRODUCTION

THE SNOW MOBILE

This is not an invention that is used in our daily lives

but maybe in the snow. Guess what invention????? The Snow Mobile!!!!!!!! This invention was made by a kid named Joseph-Armand Bombardier. Even though he fixed up his snowmobile in 1920s he did come up with his better model in the 1930s. He built this invention by using the motor of his Ford T Model. Then he used some seats. they used two tough rods for the bottom and the covering. It did not look like the snowmobile we have today but it was a good start. Soon the snowmobile changed a lot.

IMPORTANT INVENTIONS

As we know parts of the 1930s were in the Great Depression so it was hard to create some of them.

Some inventions were created by kids like the trampoline, the snow mobile, television, and even numbers and letters like braille, a writing blind people use to read and write.

Here are some inventions we are going to talk about. The first two sections is about the kid/teen inventions. Then the next two we are going to talk about the two most famous inventions in the 1930s such as the television.

There were many important inventions in the 1930's. Planes, jets and rockets use jet engines which were first created in 1936. Cat Eye road studs were created to help drivers see at night. Charles Richter also invented the Richter scale, which is used to measure the strength of earthquakes.

The 1930's was a period of great hardships. The Great Depression, which affected many countries as well as America, began from the late 1920's to 1939. The same year the Great Depression ended, World War Two began. However, many significant inventions were still made during this time in spite of these hard times and are still used today.
