Castor Sec

The aboriginals would trade the fur

for goods without it being worn for a

couple of seasons so that who ever wanted

the fur wouldnt have to wear someones

elses greasy and sweaty coat.

They would wash the fur first to get any

bacteria off then they would scrape it

and crush it until the material felt like

cardboard.

the outside of the fur would soon wore off while

the inside would become greasy and sweaty

The beaver fur was very valuable to

the french. Only castor gras was valuable to them. To them it was worth a lot,

because it was hard for the french to catch beaver they would make the aboriginals catch it for them. Then trade them goods for the beaver fur.

Before the Europeans arrived

the aboriginals trapped the beavers for themselves.
