  • Activity or club: Not started as a varsity sport
  • Team approval: Required from a school official
  • Firearms and ammunition: Participating student athletes follow the same laws as all other students at the school

  • Attractive to all students: No exceptional physical abilities required
  • No facility or maintenance required: All events occur off of school property
  • No transportation required: Athletes go home to get firearms and ammunition and then travel to their local shooting range
  • Everyone is insured: Registered athletes, coaches and volunteers

  • Team size: Minimum is five
  • Qualifying grades: 6-12 as determined by school
  • Lettering and yearbook: Determined by school
  • Minimal conflict with spring sports: Teams can conduct events up to two days a week including weekends

  • Skeet field: Contains eight shooting stations and two trap houses
