William Cullen Bryan also shows in

his snapshots that nature is beautiful. "Go forth under the open sky,and list to Nature's teachings, while from all around- Earth and her waters, and the depths of her air." This command is a command to go learn from nature and really understand how beautiful it truly is. "The venrable woods-rivers that move in majesty, and the complaining brooks that make the meadows grean; and, pored round all old Ocean's gray and melencholy waste." This quote gives me a vivid snapshot of what nature looks like and shows off its beauty. Through Bryant's words

he gives a good image of nature

and how it really looks.

H.W. Longfellow shows in his writing that nature is beautiful. He gives us the clear image that,"The little waves with their soft white hands, Efface the footprints in the sands." This shows me the beauty of nature and how amazing nature really is. He also gives the image that,"Along the sea-sands damp and brown the traveller hastens toward the town." This gives me an image in my head which forces me to believe that nature is beautiful.

Through Longfellow's words I now believe that nature is extremely beautiful.

"The venrable woods-rivers that move in majesty, and the complaining brooks that make the meadows grean; and, pored round all old Ocean's gray and melencholy waste."

"Go forth under the open sky,and list To nature's teachings, while from all around- Earth and her waters, and the depths of her air."

Analysis

Whitman demonstrates what it means to be your own person by telling people that he,"[resists] any thing [other] than [his] own diversity."

Emerson explains to us that “Every man discriminates between the voluntary acts of his mind, and his involuntary perceptions, and knows that to his involuntary perceptions a perfect faith is due.”

Walt Whitman

Also by the fact that, "The world has been instructed by kings, who have so magnetized the eyes of nations."

Whitman talking in first person says "I celebrate myself, and what I assume you shall assume, for every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you."

Emerson shows his belief in his statements about being self-trusting and self-reliant. “Every man discriminates between the voluntary acts of his mind, and his involuntary perceptions, and knows that to his involuntary perceptions a perfect faith is due.” This strong quote written in "Self Reliance" explains to us that in order to rely on yourself you need to stop second guessing yourself. Another quote from his writing shows us that "The world has been instructed by kings, who have so magnetized the eyes of nations." This quote tells us about the fact that our kings influence how we think and in order to be self-trusting we need to stop basing our lives around what the kings do and base our lives around what our heart tells us to do.

Whitman expresses his beliefs about being self-trusting and self-reliant through his strong poem "Song of Myself." He writes about how he,"[resists] any thing [other] than [his] own diversity." This quote shows that he only listens to himself and makes himself an example for others to follow. He also writes in first person,"I celebrate myself, and what I assume you shall assume." This quote is again using himself as an example of how we can be more self-reliant by not just assuming what someone else assumes and by making you're own assumptions.
